About The Deceivers

In The Deceivers, no one is quite what they seem. Take James Dunlevy for example, the respectable manager of the local tourist board in east Kent, a quiet corner of rural England, who supplements his lifestyle by smuggling jewelry and works of art from Europe in his beloved Auster aeroplane. Then there is Jennifer Williams, a fun-loving young woman determined to advance her career at any cost, and advancing her way through a number of men in the process. When James and Jennifer meet and start a passionate affair, there is no happy ending. Not when there is Haynesworth and his gang of drug runners around. Not to mention Frederick Brown, doyen of the city and respected senior official at Bank of Britain, who promises Jennifer career advancement, and then plots her downfall whilst quietly embezzling the bank's funds. Amongst the turmoil, James and Jennifer couldn't possibly fall in love, could they? Yet, in The Deceivers, no one is quite what they seem, or behaves as they should....
